The last ODI between England and India was played today in the infamous Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. India have already won the previous 4 matches and were looking to win this last game to get the flawless series victory over England. England tried to stop India from winning this match but fell apart in the 2nd innings of the match and India came out victorious again winning the match comfortably.

England managed to win the toss and decided to field first. India did well at the start of the innings, putting on an 80 run partnership for the first wicket. Almost all the batsmen contributed some runs for India but only one batsmen managed to cross the 50 run landmark. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was that batsman and he ended up with 75 runs not out in 69 balls at the end of the 50 overs.

And even-though no one else managed to score a 50 the Indian team still managed to reach the decent total of 271 runs for 8 wickets in their 50 overs. The England bowlers tried their best in this match and the pick of the lot was Steven Finn for the 2nd game in a row as he finished with figures of 2 wickets for 47 runs in his 10 overs.

The 2nd innings started of very well for the English team as they put on 129 runs for the first wicket from just 122 balls. Craig Kieswetter and Alaistair Cook both played very well for England as Kieswetter scored 63 runs off just 64 balls and Cook scored 60 runs off just 61 balls, taking England to a very good position in the run chase. But after they both fell on the 21st and 22nd over it all went horribly wrong for England.

After the opening batsmen fell England kept on losing wickets at regular intervals thanks to some great bowling by Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin as they picked up 7 of the English wickets together and conceded very little runs. From 129 for no wicket England finished their innings at 176 all out in the 37 over, meaning they had lost 10 wickets for just 48 runs. Another great bowling display by the Indian crickets and the best of the lot today was Ravindra Jadeja as he ended up with figures of 4 wickets for 33 runs in his 8 overs.

A great win for the Indian cricket team as they have now managed to win all 5 matches in this ODI series against England. The England cricket team will be very disappointed with their performance in this series and will now look to try hard and win the only T20 match against India on the 29th of October.
